Gościniec pod Strzechach in Suwałki cordially invites you to a special evening with live music! On November 15, 2024, at 7 p.m., Wojciech Straszyński will perform in our intimate space - an artist who combines music, poetry and theater in an extremely authentic and moving way.

Who is Wojciech Straszynski?

Wojciech Straszyński is a man of many talents: actor, musician, singer, and leader of the bands Dobre Wrzuta and Światło Świec. On a daily basis, he divides his life between the music and theatre stages. He is a graduate of the Puppetry Department of the State Theatre School in Białystok and co-founder of the "Write and Sing Poetry" Festival. He also runs the Song Theatre in Augustów, where he directs performances and educates new generations of young artists. His concerts always have a unique atmosphere full of humor, reflection, and sea stories - it is not without reason that the program of this event was called "Lyrically, satirically, and shanty"​

Performances and awards

Straszyński has gained wide recognition on the stage of sung poetry, winning laurels at many festivals in Poland. He performed at the Festival of Włodzimierz Wysocki's Creativity "Tropami Wysockiego – Pieśni Narowiste", where he won prestigious awards with the Mazurskie Trio band. He also took part in concerts at the Kresowa Culture Festival in Mrągowo and at the International Festival of Sung Poetry and Ballad in Ełk, where his interpretations of works by Agnieszka Osiecka and Marek Grechuta were warmly received. Wojciech Straszyński is also a laureate of numerous thematic festivals devoted to the work of bards, such as Jacek Kaczmarski and Włodzimierz Wysocki.
